I wanted to take a few minutes to let you know just how happy we are with Midwest Safety's Hazmat training programs. Your classes are tailored to our facilities needs! The time and effort that are put into the programs are obvious. The attention to personal detail is refreshing in a day and age of cookie cutter classes. I cannot say enough about the program or the fact that you have made extra efforts in assisting our institution in Hazmat preparedness. Taking time to come here and review our supplies, offer suggestions, and assist us in mapping out a vision of where we are headed has been integral in the growth of our Hazmat team. Your no pressure approach is much appreciated and in no way do I feel that I am ever pressured into a class or suggestion that has been made. I cannot say enough about Midwest Safety Associates and look forward to a continued relationship in the future! Vanessa Scheidt, RN, EMS Coordinator, St James Hospitals and Health Centers, Chicago Heights/Olympia Fields
Midwest Safety Associates were a cornerstone of our hospital's medical decon. team annual training for hospital first receiver and Hazmat awareness. The experience and knowledge demonstrated by Robert and Mark during out training were second to none. We look forward to have them back again for our next annual training. Christopher Sonne, HAZMAT Team Coordinator, Advocate Lutheran General Hospital
As the Region VII POD Hospital Disaster Preparedness Coordinator I am very careful and leery of recommending and using a new company to teach our associates something as important as Hazmat safety and preparedness. I am pleased to say that the training our associates received from Midwest Safety Associates not only allayed my fears but resulted in a new found confidence and team spirit for our Code Orange Decontamination Team. We have a very comprehensive and well supplied program. With the training and consultation we received from Midwest Safety Associates the capabilities of our team to respond to events have definitely improved significantly and we will continue to utilize them as an important part of our hospitals preparedness training regimen. The instructors are passionate about teaching and the safety of our team. The experience the instructors have in both the pre- hospital and hospital environment enhance both the classroom and hands-on training exercises. We were so impressed with the Hazmat Awareness and Hazmat Operations First Receiver training that we received; we brought them back as consultants for a large complex exercise performed at our facility. Midwest Safety Associates performed extremely well. The input provided at the post critique and the After Action Report/Improvement Plan Midwest Safety Associates provided was invaluable in advancing our hospitals readiness. Sue Hecht, BSN, RN, NREMT-B, EMS Manager, POD Hospital Disaster Preparedness Coordinator, Advocate Christ Medical Center, Oak Lawn, IL
The training that Midwest Safety Associates provides is professional, fun and specifically geared towards our hospital employees. Our employees were trained on our plan using our equipment so when they have to do it on their own, they will be familiar with it. By doing this, the employees got engaged in the discussions and excited about what they were learning. The hands on training is designed to get staff familiar with the equipment by spending time in it – not just donning and doffing - but actually moving around in it and functioning. The comments I received on the course evaluation said it all. “Mark and Bob did a great job. Have them back again next year!” “Loved all of the hands on experience.” Your level of expertise and commitment shines through in these courses. We are looking forward to having you back next year! Sonia Winandy, RN, MBA, EMS Coordinator, Rush Oak Park Hospital
We recently used your company for our OSHA required Hazmat Operations First Receiver Training and found that the training and service far exceeded other companies that we have used and all of our expectations were met. Hazmat and Emergency Preparedness training is often met with distain by our associates but the instructors tried very hard to make the programs interesting; they even managed to make them fun. Class participation was encouraged and the instructors made themselves available for questions and comments throughout the training sessions. As a person passionate and dedicated to Preparedness I found it gratifying that all the students that were registered for Hazmat Operations First Receiver trained in full ensembles with our equipment to our policy not some “cookie cutter” guideline that may not apply to our facility. During the training sessions we found items that could be improved both in equipment and procedure. The instructors really made an effort to consult, advise and even went to local stores to obtain equipment for the hospital which would make the training day more effective and safe for our associates. They actually cared about our facility and the safety of our associates. I feel confident that if we ever have to do decontamination in a “real world” event that our associates will approach it with more confidence and safety thanks to the training from Midwest Safety. I look forward to future courses with your company. Stephanie L. Dralle, EMT-P, Emergency Management/EMS Coordinator, Advocate South Suburban Hospital
We would like you to know about the many positive comments we received regarding the hazmat classes that your group facilitated in October of 2007. The Good Samaritan associates that attended these classes had nothing but positive feedback. Of special consideration were the following: relevance of the material, practical training, immediate application pertinent to Good Samaritan Hospital, non-threatening collaborative encouragement of exchange of ideas and experiences Thank you very much for the learning opportunity that you provided. We would highly recommend your hazmat courses to other hospitals within our region and system. We look forward to utilizing your services this year. Danielle Albinger, RN, BSN, EMS Coordinator and Kathy Kozisek, Safety Officer, Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove, IL
We had the pleasure of hosting Midwest Safety Associates' Hazmat First Receiver Course at our facility. It was such a positive experience. Who knew emergency preparedness could actually be fun??!! As a new facility we have worked to develop our Emergency Preparedness Plans and provided initial staff training and education sessions. But, as anyone involved in preparedness planning knows - it has to translate into "real life". If the staff can't apply it, they won't be successful in carrying out the plan. This course connected it all together. The knowledge of the instructors and their ability to reach all levels of providers allowed for a very open and educational format. The material presented in the classroom incorporated the specifics of our facility and easily transitioned into the practical experiences. Combined, they gave our staff a new level of confidence as First Receivers. More importantly, they encouraged "thinking outside the box". Flexibility is the key to emergency management. It's not always (or maybe never) going to go by the book. This was a great learning experience for all of us. I feel more confident in our ability to respond to our patient's needs and to keep our staff safe. Thank you again- I look forward to our next session!
